The articles listed in the syllabus are to be read, in there entirety, before their Discussion Date (see 'Course Outline & Tentative Schedule').
All of the articles can be acquired for free from either the Internet, WMU's Waldo Library, or JSTOR (see 'To find JSTOR' in the syllabus).
This delivery method allows the students the opportunity to learn how to use these different research mediums and decrease the student's textbook expenses.
The only way you can read the articles from JSTOR and the handouts posted on my site, including the syllabus, is with Adobe's "Acrobat Reader," not MS Word.
In other words, you must have Acrobat Reader installed on your computer.
If you do not have this free program, just click this line to get yourself a copy of the latest version or,
if you are looking for an older version of Acrobat Reader because you have an older computer, just click this line.
If you feel that you lack the confidence in performing such a procedure, contact WMU Help Desk for assistance or visit one of the computer labs
(BCC or
UCC) on campus and have a 'lab techs' give you a hand.
Please note, the articles listed below reside on another site.
If, however, you cannot view the articles from the net, it is your responsibility to retrieve the information from the library.
Remember, all reading assignments must be read, in there entirety, before the beginning of class.
A - Sex Differences in the Brain
Mirror A
B - What is McDonaldization?
Mirror B
C - If Hitler asked you to Electrocute a Stranger would you?
Mirror C
For those of you who are technologically challenged, all of the articles, including the syllabus, will be bound and placed on 2-hour reserve at Waldo library by the end of the first week of semester.
In other words, they cannot be checked out of the library.
However, the time allotted is more than sufficient to check out, copy, and return the red course pack.
The course pack call number is TBA.
